What's Open, Closed on Thanksgiving in Levittown

Thanksgiving Day is a nationally recognized federal holiday. Find out what's open and closed on Thursday, Nov. 28:

Closed

- All school districts

- Government offices at the local, state and federal level, including the post office and department of motor vehicles

- Garbage collection schedules have changed in the Town of Hempstead. Schedules can be found here

- Libraries 

- Banks

- The stock market

- The Nassau Inter-County Express bus will be running a Sunday Schedule in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. More details can be found here. 

- Most retails stores are closed

- LIRR: Additional trains will operate on Thanksgiving Day, and as an extra bonus, off-peak fares will be in effect for the entire four-day holiday weekend. More details can be found here

Open

- Certain retail stores are open on Thanksgiving Day for Black Friday.

- 24-hour stores such as 7-Eleven are open.
