13-Year-Old Bicyclist Critically Injured In Copiague Crash: Police
The teen was struck as he swerved into a lane, police say.
COPIAGUE, NY — A 13-year-old is seriously injured, after he was struck by a car while bicycling in Copiague on Saturday evening, Suffolk County police said.
The Amityville teen was riding a bicycle in the right lane of northbound Dixon Avenue, near the intersection of Caboto Avenue, at about 9:20 p.m. He then swerved into the northbound left lane and was struck by a 2008 Toyota Corolla, police said.
He was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
The Toyota was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
