According to Director Peter Ward, the operating budget for the library's next fiscal year - July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 - is just under the two percent tax cap, which means for the average taxpayer the change in taxes would be approximately $5.00 for the year. With the exception of a rise in state-mandated health retirement programs, the budget remains flat.
More information and a budget breakdown could be found here on the LML's website and in the accompanying PDF file. Voters and residents could also call the library at 631-957-7755 with any questions and for further information.
