Babylon Town Seeks Applicants for Summer Internship Program

Program offers an opportunity for minority high school students in Lindenhurst, Deer Park, North Babylon and elsewhere in Babylon to participate in local government, say Town officials.

Applications for the Town of 's summer internship program are now available.

The Ujima Program, according to Town officials, provides minority high school students, residing in or attending a school district within the Town, a chance to participate in local government.

Interns in this receive hands-on training and mentorship, said town officials, which serves to foster their interest in community development.

They said this also provides the high school students interns with "an introduction to the myriad of occupations needed to effectively promote community and neighborhood interests."
