Babylon Town Sets Board Agenda
Tuesday night's board meeting at Town Hall in Lindenhurst includes parade and carnival authorizations, scheduling of public hearings, awarding several bids and site clean-up.
The Town of Babylon board is scheduled to meet tomorrow afternoon at 7 p.m. at on East Sunrise Highway.
Here are some highlights of the agenda the board will discuss September 13, as provided by town officials (see the attached .pdf file for a full look):
- Proclaiming September 16 as American Legion Day.
- Declaring equipment surplus.
- Scheduling a public hearing in reference to amending chapter 133, article VI of the Babylon Town Code (Solid Waste Management).
- Scheduling a public hearing in reference to amending chapter 213, article VII of the Babylon Town Code (Zoning).
- Scheduling a public hearing on the question of amendments to the uniform code of traffic ordinances.
- Authorizing 2011 budget transfer.
- Authorizing release of bonds for street excavations.
- Authorizing release of fees.
- Authorizing a refund.
- Authorizing commercial waste district refunds.
- Authorizing the waiving of permit fees.
- Amending resolution number six of January 4 amending the administrative salary plan.
- Authorizing public congregation and use of sound equipment on September 24 in Babylon Town for School of Rock.
- Authorizing St. Boniface Episcopal Church to hold a carnival from September 16 to 18.
- Authorizing permission for a parade on September 17 in Babylon Town for the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company.
- Authorizing permission for a 5K walk/run on October 30 in Babylon Town for Long Island Search and Rescue.
- Authorizing the supervisor to execute an agreement with the Babylon Public Library.
- Authorizing the execution of an agreement between Babylon Town and Suffolk County, Office of the Aging for AAA Transportation Program.
- Authorizing the execution of an amendment to an agreement between Babylon Town and the New York State Department of State for the digitization of the town’s drainage infrastructure.
- Authorizing securing, board-up and site clean-up of unsafe structure located at Three Morgan Lane, East Farmingdale.
- Awarding bid number 11G55, service, repairs and installation of RNI Fuel Management System Babylon Town cars and trucks.
- Awarding bid number 11G57, electric-powered, rechargeable, four-door sedan, Chevy Volt or equal.
- Authorizing change order number two and accepting the contract with Eldor Traffic Signal Contracting Corporation for bid number 09G35, supply and install decorative street lights on Deer Park Avenue, North Babylon as complete and acceptable.
- Authorizing change order number one in the contract with Snugg Homes, LLC for RFP number 11G8, energy audit and management system for Long Island Green Homes.
