Babylon Unveils New E-Waste Curbside Pickup

Residents can now put their unwanted electronic devices at the curb along with their bottle and can recyclables for pickup.

The Town of has unveiled a new way to collect from residents of Lindenhurst and elsewhere in Town.

is defined as computer systems and accessories, hand-held devices (cell phones, iPods, iPads, PDAs, etc.), office equipment and audio-visual equipment.

Residents can now place e-waste at the curb on the same day as bottle and can collection for pickup, according to Supervisor Rich Schaffer in a recent press release on the Town website.

Previously e-waste was only accepted at the Covanta waste-processing facility in West Babylon (or simply the Residential Recycling Center).

The bottle and can recycling pick-up occurs on alternating Wednesdays. Residents are advised to consult the 2012 Recycling Calendar, which could be downloaded from the website.
