Consecutive Wins Keep Lindenhurst Force in First

The Lindenhurst Force BU12 Team defends its lead position in its division this weekend after shutting out East Islip to move into first the previous weekend.

The Lindenhurst Force BU12 Travel Soccer Team defended its first-place position in its division this past weekend after moving into the lead spot during the previous weekend’s action.

The Force first shut out rival East Islip, 5-0, on October 15, allowing the team to move into first place.

In that game Marc Esposito and Jason Koehler each netted two goals, while Sean Kennedy added one to give Lindy the win.

Striker David Ostrander had a solid game, and the defense once again stood fast with James Ward, Danny McKenna and James Fitzgibbon holding off the East Islip Attack. Goalkeeper Dean Pereira recorded another for Lindy.

This past weekend put another victory in its column when it defeated second-place Levittown Rage, 2-1, staging a comeback on the second half to clinch the win.

Levittown went up in the first half 1-0, but the Lindy boys bounced back in the second half with two unanswered goals by Midfielder Colin Sherlock, and the team never looked back.

Goalkeeper Dean Pereira stopped several point-blank shots, increasing his number of goals blocked this season and holding his number of goals on him in league play to only two so far this season.

Midfielders John Brostowski, Vincent Segretto and Jose Martinez were able to shut down the Levittown team for the entire second half.

Meanwhile Noah Daniels and Frank Pisano gave the Force some extra offense that kept Levittown on the back heels for the remainder of the game.

The team is part of the Lindenhurst Junior Squires Soccer League, which is based out of the , located at 293 Buffalo Avenue.
