Shots Fired Outside N. Babylon House Party


Suffolk Police are investigating shots fired outside of a North Babylon house party Friday night. Police say the party at 239 Prairie Drive was starting to break up when a fight erupted around 10:05 p.m. Shots were heard on the street and police recovered two spent shell casings. 

Reward Offered in Melville Hit-and-Run


Suffolk County police are looking for a man who left the scene of a collision in Melville last month. A woman eastbound on Ruland Road  was struck by a light-colored silver or white Honda CRV.  The man driving the Honda had made an illegal left turn out of the 7-Eleven parking lot at 613 Broadhollow Road in Melville.  Police said he stopped after the crash, apologized to the victim and fled.

Slayer Graffiti in Commack Park Confused With Hate Crime


Wicks Park, which is home to the Commack South Little League, was vandalized Tuesday night, police said. One of the buildings on the town park property was marked with black graffiti. Police were initially investigating the vandalism as a hate crime after a resident called in the incident, but officials then realized the markings, which included a pentagram, were symbols from the band, Slayer.
