Dog Island Grooming Opening Soon

New dog grooming service will take over former Friendly Hometown Deli.

Suds and doggie treats will be replacing subs and cold cuts at the storefront at 150 North Delaware Avenue soon as Dog Island Grooming prepares to open for business this month.

The store's windows have been a sight of busy activity inside of the location as workers redesign the interior of the former deli for a new dog grooming business.

According to the website for Dog Island Grooming, the owners expect the pet services location to be opened in "late June," but no specific date was given.

The groomer's regular package will include shampooing, nail shortening, brush-out, ear cleaning and even a bandana when the whole process is finished. The business is also offering 20 percent off as a grand opening special.

The location was formerly home to Friendly Hometown Deli, a long-time delicatessen that had occupied the storefront for over 15 years.
