Douglas Madlon Appointed As Village of Lindenhurst Trustee
He will fill the role of Trustee Joan M. Masterson, who announced her retirement earlier this month.

LINDENHURST, NY — A new Lindenhurst resident is officially a trustee.
Douglas Madlon was appointed to the position at the Sept. 19, Lindenhurst Village Board meeting.
He will be fulfilling the remainder of the term vacated by former Trustee Joan M. Masterson, who announced her retirement earlier this month.

Masterson served 11 years on the Village Board, a release said.
"The Village of Lindenhurst is grateful to Trustee Masterson for her tireless dedication and commitment to the Lindenhurst community and its residents," the village said.

Madlon has "immense experience" in local government, and has served the Village of Lindenhurst for the last 35 years, as Deputy Village Clerk, and then as Village Administrator Clerk.
His educational background consists of a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Administration.
In addition to his role in local government, Madlon serves as Pastor of the Islip United Methodist Church, the village said.
He is also an active member of many local community and civic organizations, including the Lindenhurst Rotary Club and Lindenhurst Moose Lodge.
Madlon is a lifelong Village resident, where he has raised his two children, Natalie and Chris, with his wife, Janet.
"It is my pleasure to appoint Douglas Madlon as Trustee to the Lindenhurst Village Board," said Mayor Michael Lavorata. "His 35 years of service in Village government will be an asset to the Board. I look forward to working with him in this new capacity."
