A sure sign of the tough economic times is the number of For Sale and For Rent signs you see in the Village and North Lindenhurst.
If you go down Wellwood Avenue, Sunrise Highway, Hoffman Avenue, Montauk Highway or other major roads in the area, residents are sure to find a few.

Many in Lindenhurst probably remember when was open there for many years. It turned into an Eckerd drug store for a little while. And its last drug store incarnation was Rite-Aid.
However, because already had a location around the corner that faces Sunrise Highway when the company took over Eckerd a few years ago, the decision was made to close this location and keep the original Rite-Aid location open.
Since then the location has remained vacant, and the "For Lease" sign by Sabre Real Estate - based in Garden City - has been hanging for a while now.
It includes Sabre's website, sabreny.com, and number: 516-364-2900.
So what do you think should go there? A restaurant, a nightclub, an indoor skate park, something else? Tell us in the comments section below.
