LI Gastropub Opens A New Location In Lindenhurst: Report

The Great South Bay Brewery opened a second location in Lindenhurst.

LINDENHURST, NY — A new gastropub is breathing new life into an old building in Lindenhurst. The Great South Bay Brewery opened its second location in the old First Bank of Lindenhurst building earlier this month, and offers a unique lineup of brews and a vast array of bar food, according to a recent story in Newsday.

To open the latest watering hole, brewery owners and father and son duo Brian and Doug Davis teamed up with Chris Palmer, a chef who spent 11 years running the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury and cooking for large parties ranging from 175 to 350 each, Newsday reported.

It took the team just seven months to turn the abandoned building into a revamped watering hole.

"There were pigeons flying around in here,” Brian Davis told Newsday.

According to the brewery's menu, the pub's menu offers a modern, hipsterish take on bar food with offerings like Mexican street corn fried, crab Rangoon egg rolls, locally sourced white-clam ramen, a fried-fish sandwich honoring McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish, a "poke pizza” smothered with ahi tuna, avocado, cucumber and mozzarella, and a heck of a lot more.
