Hurricane Irene Cancels, Postpones Weekend Events
Lindenhurst benefit is canceled while Babylon Town Beach Blast is postponed.
Two events among the several that were scheduled for Saturday in Lindenhurst and Babylon Town have already been canceled or postponed due to .
One was the , originally scheduled for Saturday at on Hoffman Avenue, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.. The fundraiser, spearheaded by Lindenhurst Village Trustee Jodi Caravella, was canceled.
It was why the original Saturday night Village Square concert by was canceled, as the acts were going to lend their time to the benefit, according to Caravella, who also spearheads the villages’ summer concert .

The family-friendly event features relay contests, games, face-painting, rides and an annual ice cream eating contest, plus the town’s 17th annual fireworks extravaganza presented by Bay Fireworks beginning at dusk.
