Lindenhurst Boy Scout Earns Eagle Award

Greg Cummings recently became an Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Boy Scouts.

A Lindenhurst Boy Scout was recently awarded the highest honor in scouting – the Eagle Award.

Although many Scouts begin the difficult journey which leads them to the pinnacle of their scouting careers, only a small percentage actually achieves their goal and receives the esteemed Eagle Scout Award.

When Greg Cummings selected his Eagle project he knew it had to center around the school where his  Scouting journey began.  He drafted plans to build a bench/planter at West Gates Elementary School.

With assistance from local merchants and donations, he was able to purchase cedar so that the planter would last for many years.  The planter enhances the front entrance of the school in Lindenhurst.

Greg is a member of Boy Scout Troop 183 in West Babylon.
