Lindenhurst Business Collects Toys for Tots

Local acupuncturist is currently collecting toys for children in need; those who drop off toys at his Lindy or Kings Park office will receive a gift certificate.

The Balance Health and Wellness Center - which has offices in Lindenhurst, Kings Park and Merrick - has begun collecting toys this holiday season for children who are less fortunate.

Director Joseph D’Antona, a trained acupuncturist a decade-plus experience,  started his own practice and opened his first Center in Lindenhurst in 2008. In 2010 he opened a Center in Kings Park, and has recently opened a multi-discipline holistic clinic in Merrick.

He and his team are now collecting Toys for Tots in both the and offices, and is giving each person who drops off a toy a gift certificate towards one of the Center's services.

“I feel so fortunate that people entrust me with their health that we want to give back in some capacity, and the Toys for Tots program is an amazing one that has been bringing a smile to children’s faces for more than 60 years,” he said.

Toys can be dropped at 672 Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst or in Kings Park at 57 Main Street through .

D’Antona also said the holidays could be a stressful time for many Long Islanders, and, as a result, he and his staff often see an influx of patients looking for health and nutritional help.

“People have a lot going on, and they like to unplug for an hour at Balance to get recharged,” said D’Antona. “Also with the new year ahead, people are beginning to think about health goals and weight loss goals; we’re here to help.”

The Balance Health and Wellness Center has a New York State-licensed and -board-certified staff in acupuncture, massage therapy, among other services.
