Lindenhurst Community Awarded "Pride of Lindenhurst"
Lindenhurst School District recognizes inspiring rescue and rebuilding efforts in wake of Hurricane Sandy.
The Lindenhurst School District formally awarded its "Pride of Lindenhurst" honor to the entire Lindenhurst community, noting their efforts and spirit following the wrath of Hurricane Sandy.
Board of Education trustee Mary Ellen Cunningham led the half-hour long presentation during the recent Community Forum, thanking those in the filled high school auditorium from groups such as Lindy Manpower to a group of teachers from one of the district's schools.
The award is commonly awarded to an outstanding contribution that inspires pride in the school district.
"There are too many of you to thank," Cunningham said during the presentation. "But we need to say it – THANK YOU!"
