Lindenhurst Educators Appointed to Statewide Leadership Positions

Jennifer Freedman and Jaclyn Coscia Recognized as Experts in Their Fields

The Lindenhurst Union Free School District is proud to announce that two of its educators have been recognized with significant statewide leadership positions, appointments that highlight the District's commitment to excellence in career-technical education and instructional technology.

Jennifer Freedman, Director of Instructional Technology & Innovation and Data Privacy Officer for the Lindenhurst School District, has been appointed as At-Large Director of the New York State Association for Computers and Technology in Education (NYSCATE.) An ISTE Certified Educator and Western Suffolk BOCES 2023 Administrator of the Year, Ms. Freedman oversees digital fluency initiatives and library media programs while pursuing her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction. NYSCATE serves over 29,000 educators statewide through conferences and workshops promoting technology integration in schools.

Additionally, Jaclyn Coscia, cosmetology teacher at Lindenhurst High School, has been named the New York State Trade & Technical Education Zone 6 Representative by the NYS Trade & Technical Education Association (NYSTTEA). With over 22 years of industry experience and as co-founder of the Long Island Cosmetology Teachers' Association, Ms. Coscia brings an extensive depth of experience to this role. NYSTTEA supports career and technical educators across New York through professional development, advocacy, and collaboration.
