Photos: Lindenhurst Field Hockey Falls to Sachem East in Quarterfinals

Number nine seed Lindenhurst was coming off a win against number eight seed on Monday when the team went on the road again Wednesday to take on .

But the 9-7 Lindy team soon found itself facing defeat against the number one seed. Despite a defense that Sachem East was wary of, Lindy faced a tough 2-0 shutout in the Suffolk County Class A field hockey quarterfinals.

“We knew they were a team that was very aggressive, who likes to hit the ball, so we went through a lot of that in practice and worked on our footwork,” said Sachem East Coach Tina Moon.

Sachem (16-1) advances to the semifinals, which take place Monday, November 2, at home against the winner of the number four Bay Shore and number five Northport quarterfinal.
