Lindenhurst Force Scores Two Shutouts This Weekend

The Lindenhurst Force BU12 Team picked up two more wins against Oceanside and HBC Crush this weekend in LIJSL and NYCSL competition, respectively.

The Lindenhurst Force BU12 Travel Soccer Team had another successful weekend shutting out not only Oceanside on Saturday, 1-0, in Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) competition, but also the HBC Crush team, 1-0, in NYCSL play Sunday evening.

On October 1 Midfielder John Brostowski, scored in the first half on a key follow-up play and tucked the ball past the Oceanside goalkeeper for the eventual game-winning tally. Lindy Goalkeeper Dean Pereira recorded another shut-out.

On October 2 Midfielder Vincent Segretto scored late in the first half on a pass from Striker Jose Martinez. Segretto broke in on the HBC goalkeeper, and pushed it past him on a solid shot.

That was all Lindy needed as their defensive backs, James Fitzgibbon, Daniel McKenna and James Ward, held off HBC for the rest of the game.

Midfielder Sean Kennedy and Stopper Colin Sherlock controlled the midfield and put forth solid efforts. Goalkeeper Marc Esposito made a late game save that preserved the shutout and win for the Lindy Force.

The team is part of the Lindenhurst Junior Squires Soccer League, which is based out of the , located at 293 Buffalo Avenue.
