A Lindenhurst man was arrested by Suffolk County Police last evening for leaving the scene of a crash that seriously injured two women.
According to police, Joseph Gervasio, 24, of Lindenhurst, was driving his 2008 Acura on Union Boulevard, west of Higbie Lane, in West Islip on June 15 at around 2 a.m. when he was involved in a single-car crash.
Gervasio allegedly fled the scene on foot, leaving behind two female passengers in his car that were seriously injured.
The 24-year old Lindenhurst resident was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Physical Injury and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
Gervasio is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip today.
