Lindenhurst Native & Farmingdale College Volleyball Player Recognized

Sarah Palladino was one of three players to receive All (Skyline) Conference honors.

Sarah Palladino, freshman setter for Farmingdale State women's volleyball team, was one of three players recently honored, as the team closed out the 2011 season with a 14-8 overall record, including 5-4 in the Skyline Conference.

The Rams defeated Old Westbury in the quarterfinals and eventually fell at Mount Saint Mary in the semifinal round of the playoffs.

The team will be returning with five-of-eight players for the 2012 season, including Palladino - a Lindenhurst native.

For her efforts she was named First Team All-Skyline. Palladino was joined by junior outside Holly Sahner of Dix Hills. Senior outside Dominique Cunningham of Amityville received Second Team honors.

Palladino, in her rookie season, finished second in the nation in service aces per set. She led the team and the conference with 101 aces and a solid 1.26 aces per set average. She also tallied 589 assists and 118 digs.
