Lindenhurst Preschool Center Offers No-Cost Skills Assessments
The school district's Center offers evaluations of preschool-age children at no cost to parents.
The Preschool Evaluation Center in the offers on-site assessments of children between the ages of two and a half and five years old at no cost to parents in the district.
According to district officials, the Center evaluates the physical, adaptive, cognitive, speech and language, social and emotional abilities of a child. A team approach is used to work in partnership with families to meet their child’s needs.
If parents suspect delays in their children’s development, then they might be eligible to receive services through the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), noted district officials.

These services could include speech, occupational therapy, counseling, special education, physical therapy, an integrated preschool program, or a half- or full-day special education program.
