Lindenhurst School District Inducts 8 To 'Wall of Heroes'

The Wall of Heroes was started by the district to honor Lindenhurst graduates who have served the USA in the armed forces.

Mayor Michael Lavorata recently attended the Lindenhurst Union Free School District’s “Wall of Heroes” Induction Ceremony.

The “Wall of Heroes” was started by the district to honor the many brave Lindenhurst graduates who have gone on to serve our country and defend our basic freedoms in the United States Armed Forces.

This year, eight Lindenhurst Alumni were inducted, including: Frank Ancona, Navy (Class of ’78), Paul Fitzsimmons, Army (Class of ’72), Dennis Lyman, Navy (Class of ’62), Kevin Medina, Air Force (Class of 2021), Thomas Pitkin, Air Force (Class of ’62), Juan Ramirez, Navy (Class of ’90), Alexander Santino, Army (Class of ’65), and Kenneth White, Army (Class of ’62).

Mayor Lavorata said, “I am proud to be here as we honor these brave and selfless Lindenhurst graduates who embody the Lindenhurst High School motto of ‘Leadership, Honor and Scholarship.’ I applaud the Lindenhurst Board of Education for starting this program which recognizes veterans from our community, and promotes our national and Lindy Pride!”
