Lindenhurst Schools Celebrate Excellence
Board of Education Grants Staff Tenure, Honors School Community Members
At its June 16th meeting, the Lindenhurst Board of Education celebrated the contributions of its dedicated staff members, honoring those who have gone above and beyond in their service to the Lindenhurst school community with special awards and granting tenure to staff members who have demonstrated deep skill and dedication to their craft.
The Board granted 24 staff members—including 17 teachers, a school psychologist, and 3 social workers—tenure. Administrators receiving tenure were Director of Instructional Technology & Innovation Jennifer Freedman, Coordinator of CTE Thomas Scarola, and Alleghany Avenue Elementary School Principal Meghan Shore.

In addition to celebrating tenure milestones, the Board honored outstanding staff, students, and community members for their exceptional dedication to Lindenhurst. Mr. Scarola received the Harvard Award, while Board Trustee Linda Aniello was presented with the Yale Award. Special recognition went to student Rida Malik, staff member Patricia Colton, and community member Arthur Joseph Scalia, who each earned the Pride of Lindenhurst Award for their remarkable contributions.
