Lindenhurst Schools Pay Tribute to Retiring Teacher
Former president of Teachers Association honored as she retired at the end of the school year.
In a beautiful outdoor ceremony, West Gates Elementary School’s students, faculty, staff and administrator gave tribute to retiring teacher Rose Russo.
Speeches were delivered, flowers were given and many hugs were distributed. Ms. Russo has been a teacher in the Lindenhurst School District for many years. She also served as president of the Teachers Association of Lindenhurst.
West Gates Principal Donna Smawley spoke beautifully, as the tears were visible throughout the crowd.
