LINDENHURST, NY — Over 200 homemade crocheted hats and blankets made by members of the Lindenhurst Rainbow Senior Center will help to keep Long Islanders warm this winter.

Seniors crocheted 89 blankets and 115 hats to donate to Long Island nursing homes, hospitals and shelters, according to Village of Lindenhurst officials.

It's not the first time Linenhurs seniors have contributed to the community. In 2024, they sewed 125 quilts and crocheted 279 blankets that were given to those in need around Long Island.
