Lindenhurst Village Holding Earth Day Dedication
Residents are encouraged to attend Saturday's ceremony where a storm basin filtering system on Hartford Street will be dedicated.
The Village of Lindenhurst will be holding a ceremony to commemorate Earth Day 2012 this afternoon, and all residents are welcome.
“The will be celebrating Earth Day by having Fabco Industries, in conjunction with the Sierra Club and SPLASH (Stop Polluting Littering and Save Harbors), install a storm basin filtering system on Hartford Street,” Deputy Administrator Doug Madlon said in an e-mail about the event.
“It’s the intent of the storm basin to filter out pollutants that flow into Feller’s Pond,” he added.
