Lindy Middle School's International Day Highlights Countries Around the Globe

Over 50 countries represented during the 2013 festival at the middle school.

More than 300 students and over 50 countries were represented at Lindenhurst Middle School’s ninth annual International Day.

In teams of two or three, middle school seventh and eighth graders and Mrs. Curran’s ESL students set up booths that detailed different countries from around the world. Students displayed photos and memorabilia and served traditional foods from the countries they had researched. They also played music native to these countries.

The wonderful array of foods, music, and sights from all the countries were astonishing. Special events included a Jiu Jitsu demonstration by Jonathan Rood, who represented South Korea, and performances by the 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Chorus and Select Chorus, led by Kathleen Reilly and Candice Rice.
