Driver Intentionally Mowed Down Man After Parking Lot Fight: Cops

UPDATE 8:45 a.m. Sunday – Police say the driver of the vehicle that struck Kawon Williams was 41-year-old Shatik Canady, of West Babylon. Canady intentionally ran over Williams, police said. Canady is charged with first degree manslaughter.

LINDENHURST, NY – A 28-year-old man was killed by a hit-and-run driver following a fight in a Long Island bar parking lot Saturday morning, police said.

Kawon Williams was involved in a fight in the rear parking lot of BrewHaus Pub located at 111 N. Wellwood Ave. and after the fight, he was struck by a vehicle that fled at 4:52 a.m.

Williams, 28, of Wyandanch, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made.
