May 27 Lindy Edition: Blood Drive, Memorial Day

Friday’s here, and so is Memorial Day weekend. What are you doing this weekend? Maybe seeing the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show at Jones Beach at this weekend?

This weekend Republic Airport will host several vintage World War II-era bombers that will be participating in the Jones Beach air show. Click for more details.

And now the New York State legislature is about to pass a tax cap (property tax plan) that will take effect next year. What do you think about that? Is this good or bad for Lindenhurst, or somewhere in between? Weigh in below.

Now, here’s what you need to know today:

1. The blood drive sponsored by the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1421 and the Captree Power Squadron will take place today 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

2. The Captree Power Squadron will also host a Memorial Day Raft-Up, May 29-30.

3. The Lindenhurst American Little League Challenger Baseball will have a night game tonight versus East Meadow. It’s for the Orioles and Yankees only.

4. Tonight is the last practice night for the upcoming Knights of Columbus-OLPH Council #794 Shuffleboard tournament in June. Men, women, members, non-members, new players and experts are welcomed. Call Joe Archbold 631-957-8907 for details and set up a team.

5. are in session today due to snow days taken this past winter, but are closed on Monday, Memorial Day. The OLPH School is also closed Monday. is closed Monday, too. It’s also quiet at the this weekend. The LML is closed Sunday and Monday.
