AMITYVILLE, NY — Mesita operates two popular Mexican restaurants in Nassau County, in Garden City and Rockville Centre, and has now announced the first Suffolk spot. The third Mesita will open in the former Chase bank building in downtown Amityville, at 8 Green Ave.

A Saturday Instagram post from the restaurant group shared the news:

"You asked it for and we delivered: a new location in Suffolk County."

The restaurant will open by the end of the year, the post said.

The ground floor of the former bank has 5,000 square feet, and the seller, along with the Village of Amityville, wanted to see a restaurant go into the vacant space, according to last year's real estate listing.

The eateries also has an extensive tequila, margarita and cocktail menu.
