Video: Music Man Bud Gramer Entertains at The Village Lanterne
German-American music keeps the accordion performer in demand in Lindenhurst and elsewhere on Long Island.
It’s music from another time and a world away. But Bud Gramer and his accordion are still in demand, according to Newsday.com.
The New Hyde Park resident performs Tuesdays at The Village Lanterne in Lindenhurst.
"Music is the universal language,” Gramer told Newsday. “Sometimes if people are having a rough day or if I’m having a rough day, then I put the accordion on and I play a few songs, and most of the time I feel a lot better. The world could use a lot more music.”

Gramer grew up in Queens playing baseball and the accordion. His parents were Austrian-born. German-American music seemed like a natural fit.
Now Gramer keeps the tradition alive. In addition to playing Tuesdays in Lindy at The Village Lanterne, he performs regularly there around the Island with his wife Linda.

He’s also a regular with the Long Island Accordion Alliance, which will gather at La Villini in East Northport on Wednesday, February 6, at 6:30 p.m. and at The Village Lanterne on March 13.
So have some schnitzel and enjoy the show. And be sure to take a peek through the Lindy Lens at one of Gramer's performances.
