Parades Set for Memorial Day, Annual LFD Drill
Memorial Day parade on May 30 will honor those who sacrificed their lives for the country, and the Parade and Drill on June 4 will mark the annual drill held at Fireman's Park.
The annual sponsored by the United Veterans Council is set for May 30.
It’ll begin at 8:30 a.m. at located on North Monroe Avenue, according to the Village of Lindenhurst, and will feature ceremonies honoring those who have lost their lives fighting and continue to fight for the USA and serve their country.
The parade will also feature the , Girl and Boy Scout troops, the Ladies’ Auxiliary, as well as the and bands. Most of the LFD’s trucks will also be involved.

After the initial ceremony the parade will then wind west on Newark Avenue to North Delaware Avenue, then south on North Delaware to Charles Street. It’ll head west on Charles to the monument in Fireman’s Park, where the veterans and the Lindenhurst Fire Department will hold another ceremony before continuing together into town.
The parade will head down Charles as it turns into Hartford Street and turn south on Wellwood Avenue. A ceremony will take place at the intersection of Wellwood and Hoffman Avenues. Then the parade will continue to for the remainder of the ceremonies.

The LFD’s will take place next Saturday, June 4. It starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. at Wellwood and Liberty Avenues, according to the village and the LFD. It’ll head north on Wellwood to Hartford, then down Hartford into Fireman’s Park near the pavilion. The drill, which attracts more than 50 fire departments from around Long Island, will start a half hour after the parade ends.
The next day, June 5, the LFD will take place at the same place, sans parade, at noon.
