The fund was set up after that, and Maria's mother's yearly contributions and the school's Talent Show have made up the fund.

However, despite the gravity of the story and the tears shed because this marked the last Talent Show at the school, parents were happy to see their children perform.

And the students happily sang, danced and played their instruments to entertain the crowd that packed the school's auditorium to standing-room-only capacity.

The children showed their love of the school and sung their school song as a group at the finale of the show.

Each grade performed, from the fearless first-graders to the eighth-graders who performed a Grease medley with dance and song.
