Photos: P.S. I Love You Day in Lindenhurst
See highlights of the day's anti-bullying events at the Lindenhurst Middle School and around the district.
The conducted a series of events and discussions, in conjunction with P.S. I Love You Day, as part of its anti-bullying efforts.
The day was a time to honor those who've suffered from being bullied and to stand up against bullying, according to school officials.
“Many thanks to sixth-grader Cassidy Hofmann who came up with the idea of promoting anti-bullying at the middle school in conjunction with P.S. I Love You Day,” said Assistant Principal Dr. Bruce Hoffman.

Some of the anti-bullying activities included:
- Students working together on cooperative learning games such as rope climbing in their physical education classes.
- Health teachers conducting special lessons about how to report bullying.
- A seventh-grade social studies class producing a skit on bullying modeled after John Stossel’s reporting style.
Elsewhere at the LMS students made purple ribbons for one another, and the Character Education Club posted numerous posters around the building about bullying.

LMS students were also asked to dress in purple to show their support.
Meanwhile, the day was recognized elsewhere in the district.
Students in Mrs. Krumholz’s class at constructed purple hearts while students at and dressed in purple.
In addition, during Rall’s annual Parents as Reading Partners () celebration on P.S. I Love You Day, students received purple bracelets or bookmarks. Students also delivered personal letters to their “special someone.”
