Police: Lindenhurst Man Arrested After Drugs Found in Car
Christopher Brandel, 21, faces several drug charges and traffic violations following traffic stop Wednesday.

A Lindenhurst man was arrested on Wednesday after police discovered drugs in his car during a traffic stop on the Southern State Parkway in North Bellmore, State Police said.
A trooper pulled over Christopher Brandel, 21, at 3:12 p.m. on the westbound side of the parkway west of Newbridge Road after Brandel changed lanes "unsafely," police said.
A search of Brandel's Chevy Lumina turned up a gram of marijuana and Brandel was also found to be in possession of two Xanax pills, police said.

Brandel was also driving with a suspended license, police said.
Brandel is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree – a misdemeanor – unlawful possession of marijuana (violation), misdemeanor unlicensed operation and several traffic violations.

All charges are returnable in Nassau County First District Court.
