Police Help Deliver Baby At Suffolk Home: PD
Suffolk County police officers helped a woman deliver her baby at home in Amityville on Thursday before EMTs arrived, police say.

AMITYVILLE, NY — Two Suffolk County police officers helped a newborn baby make his way into the world Thursday, police said.
First Precinct Officers Peter Verhey and Joshua Valderrama responded to an Amityville home after a 911 caller reported a woman in labor, police said.
Upon arrival, Verhey and Valderrama found the woman, Aylara Alleyne, 34, in labor in the bathroom of the home, police said. The officers helped Alleyne deliver her baby before EMTs arrived shortly after, police said.

The mother and baby were transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip in good condition, police said.
