Powerball Jackpot Tops $300M: Did You Buy a Ticket?

Saturday's drawing could put a Lindenhurst resident in the money.

The lines for lottery tickets in and near Lindenhurst could be long as the Powerball jackpot sits at $320 million as of Friday, and could grow even more.

According to Newsday, lottery officials said as more tickets are sold the jackpot increases. As of Friday morning, a winning ticket would have a cash payout of $198.3 million, according to powerball.com.

Lindenhurst residents looking to find a local lottery outlet should visit the New York Lottery website.

They could also check Lindenhurst Patch's directory for a local stationery store, 7-Eleven or other small business selling Powerball tockets.

Keep in mind there have been Lindy residents who've hit many a jackpot in the past two years, and there were even seven lucky residents were in a group of 20 Melville Costco employees who won a Powerball jackpot two years ago.

That winning ticket was bought at Maulik and Chandni Stationery store on West Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst.
