Rall Students Conducting Toy Drive
The student council at William Rall Elementary School will be collecting toys in Lindenhurst to be donated after the holidays as part of Senator Fuschillo's 'Extend the Holidays' Toy Drive.
While many kids are finalizing their list of toys they'd like to get from Santa this year, the students at will be collecting for children who are less fortunate.
The school's student council - guided by Valerie Dietrich and Dawn Masterson, Rall teachers and council advisors - will spearhead the collection as part of the "Extend the Holidays" - an annual effort organized by New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr.
Fuschillo recently met with Rall's student council and advisors to tell them about the program, which benefits the children in Winthrop Hospital’s Pediatric Ward. The hospital uses the to help cheer up their young patients.

They're delivered after the holiday season so children could experience the joys of receiving a holiday gift throughout the year, according to the state senator's office.
More than 1,500 toys were collected as part of last year’s toy drive.

“It was wonderful to see the students get so excited about
participating in the program and being able to help children in the
hospital," Fuschillo said.
"I’m very thankful that they're once again helping to make this program a success. I’m sure they're going to work very hard, and will do a great job,” he added.
