School District Releases Kindergarten Registration Schedule for 2012-13

For parents seeking to enroll their school-age children in kindergarten in the Lindenhurst School District for the 2012-13 school year, they'll need to head to the McKenna Administration Building, located at 350 Daniel Street.

Eligible children must be five years old on or before December 1, 2012, according to school officials.

Parents must pick up and fill out a registration packet, which must be presented at the time of registration.

Packets - which outline all of the information required, such as proof of residency, child's record of immunizations, etc. - can be obtained in person at any of the six elementary schools, middle school, high school or the McKenna Building.

The packet of forms is also available on the district website.

However, school officials recommend picking the packet up in person. Parents should also note that all of the forms contained in the packet must be filled out.

Parents should follow the schedule provided by the district below, and if they're unsure which school their children will be attending, then they should contact the Central Registration Office at 631-867-3055.

• Registration for those children who'll be attending Albany Avenue will take place at the McKenna Building on February 1 and 8*, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Registration for those children who'll be attending Alleghany Avenue will take place at the McKenna Building on February 2 and 9, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Registration for those children who'll be attending Daniel Street will take place at the McKenna Building on February 3 and 10, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Registration for those children who'll be attending Harding Avenue will take place at the McKenna Building on February 6 and 13, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Registration for those children who'll be attending West Gates will take place at the McKenna Building on February 7 and 14, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Registration for those children who'll be attending William Rall will take place at the McKenna Building on February 9 and 16, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
