September 29 Lindy Edition: Lunch & Movie

The week’s almost over, and so is the muggy weather. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Schools are closed for Rosh Hashanah on September 29 and 30.

2. The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1421’s social quarters are open for lunch on Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

3. Doors open for the weekly Thursday bingo at the Knights of Columbus-OLPH Council #794 at 5:30 p.m. It’ll start at 7:15 p.m.

5. There are several events happening at the , including the month-long , the continuation of the nominations and the continuation of the Lindenhurst Kiwanis Club-sponsored submissions.

6. This upcoming weekend on October 2 Lindenhurst Band Parents Association and the 2011 Lindenhurst High School Marching Band presents the at the .

Gates open at 11 a.m., rain or shine, for the band competition and festival. First performance begins 11:45 a.m. Admission is $6, but children five years old and younger are free with an adult. There’ll be food, entertainment and a raffle to win 60" HDTV.
