September 9 Lindy Edition: 9/11 & Football

TGIF, Lindy, and it appears sunny with blue skies – do you buy it? Not so sure. But no matter. There are many things to do this weekend, and this Sunday marks the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

On that somber note here’s what you need to know:

1. The will hold its marking the events of 9/11 and the residents who lost their lives in the attacks at the Lindenhurst Remembers Memorial Garden. It starts with a silent procession from Village Square to the garden. Click for more details.

2. The September 11, 2001 Memorial Ceremony will take place at the Town of Babylon September 11, 2001 Hometown Memorial between Cedar and Overlook on Ocean Parkway at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Click for more details.

3. There are several events happening at the , including the weekly at 1:30 p.m.: . See the LML website for more details and events.

4. The POW/MIA Vigil starts tonight at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. It will also honor those who died on 9/11.

5. The WBAB/BLI and Long Island Blood Services blood drive is taking place today until 6 p.m. at the radio stations’ studios at 555 Sunrise Highway in West Babylon. The goal of this drive and the ones held September 6 to 10 across the Island is to collect one pint of blood for every life lost on 9/11. Click for more details.
