Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lindy Cancelled

Update (4:15 p.m.): The National Weather Service has cancelled the earlier issued Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

Original: The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Suffolk County until 4:15 p.m.

A strong line of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds and heavy rainfall was spotted by the NWS at 3:15 p.m. moving towards our area at roughly 30 mph.

The storms could be strong in nature even by the time they reach our area, capable of producing gusts of 60 mph and heavy rain with slight potential for flash flooding.

NWS warnings also note the possibility of cloud to ground lightning and large hail being associated with these storms.
