Shooting Hospitalizes Man On Long Island: Police

A man was hospitalized after getting shot the chest while sitting in a vehicle on Long Island Tuesday night, according to ​Suffolk police.

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY — A man was shot in the chest while sitting in his car on Long Island on Tuesday night, according to Suffolk County police.

Police told Patch a a 38-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle on Walnut Road in North Amityville when he was shot in the chest around 11:15 p.m.

He was transported via ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.
