Story Comes to Life at Harding Avenue Elementary
Author and illustrator Angelo DeCesare helps students at the Lindenhurst elementary school with their reading skills and helps them learn how to deal with difficult situations.

Author and illustrator Angelo DeCesare recently visited in Lindenhurst for a special Arts-in-Education program.
DeCesare discussed with the students his experiences as an author and illustrator, as well as how he brings stories to life.
He's written several journal-style picture books, featuring his main character, Flip, who's a cartoon dog which learned to enjoy writing by using his imagination.

The character's been successful in helping young students develop their skills in reading and writing, according to school officials.
For the older grades DeCesare’s program presented an anger-management workshop. Students wrote a brief anger-related scene and performed their story using Flip puppets.

As a group the students also discussed ways to handle difficult situations, noted school officials.
