Students Recognized for Winning Bulldog Triathlon
Several students emerged as overall winners in the triathlon held recently at Lindenhurst High.
Several students were recently recognized after winning the fifth annual Bulldog Triathlon at the Lindenhurst High School.
Out of a field of more than 70 participating students, , Kyle Cropsey, Ray Kelly, Greg Fothergill and Chris Meame emerged as the overall winners. And Maria Manno took the honor of top female winner.
In true triathlon fashion, the event – coordinated by Angelo Cioffaletti and the high school’s physical education department – featured swimming, biking and running. Each student swam 200 yards, biked five miles and ran, jogged or walked two miles.

To prepare students trained and documented workouts for eight weeks prior to the big day, and participated in required warm-up stretches on the day of the event. In addition, there were aid stations with water and race bibs, simulating an actual triathlon.
Competing students also received a medal for participating, as well as hats, sports beans and t-shirts in donated bags.
