Suffolk County PAL to Host 7-on-7 Tournament

Fundraiser benefits Lauren's First and Goal and Boomer Esiason Foundation.

The Suffolk County Police Department’s Police Athletic League is hosting the annual Lauren’s First and Goal 7-on-7 Tournament this weekend to help raise funds for brain tumor research and cancer services.

The event – which will be held at the Suffolk County PAL Complex – will include approximately 40 teams of 9- to 14-year-old student athletes participating in a 7-on-7 football passing tournament.

The fundraiser will benefit Lauren’s First and Goal, named in honor of 14-year-old brain tumor survivor Lauren Loose. This non-profit organization was formed to provide support for brain tumor research and cancer services and increase awareness of the disease.

Money raised will also benefit the Foundation, which raises funds to find a cure for cystic fibrosis, provides support to those affected and works to inform others about the disease.

It’s scheduled for August 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the complex in Holbrook.
