Suffolk Man Cuffed On Charges Of Child Porn Possession And Promotion: Police

He was arrested during a raid at his home early Friday morning, Suffolk police say.

LONG ISLAND, NY — A Suffolk County man has been arrested in connection with his possession and promotion of child pornography, police said on Friday.

Digital Forensics Unit detectives received a tip from Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force about a Lindenhurst man in July, and after an investigation, detectives, with the help of the 1st Precinct Community Support Unit in West Babylon, executed a search warrant at a home on Deauville Parkway at around 6:30 a.m., and arrested a resident, according to police.

Detectives charged James Davidson with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child, police said.

Davidson, 67, is scheduled for arraignment on Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.

It was not immediately clear if he has legal representation.
