Talk Back Poll: Filling Empty Storefronts in Lindenhurst
Take the poll and share what you think should open in the soon-to-close Sears Hardware and some of the nearby larger empty storefronts Lindenhurst.
It seems there are many and in the Village and North Lindenhurst - a sure sign of the tough economic times in the country and the community.
Many of these vacant stores are anchor stores, and occupy the shopping centers on Wellwood Avenue and around the corner on Sunrise Highway in North Lindy.
These centers are about to take another hit when later this due to "poor performance," according to parent company Sears Holdings Corporation.

This Sears Hardware location replaced a Marshall's location that closed when it opened in 1997, and now it joins other large stores in those strip malls that have closed in recent years and remain vacant: Rite-Aid, Let's Bounce and Party, and Hollywood Video.
