Teen Arrested, After Threatened To Detonate Suffolk HS: Police
The student threatened to detonate an explosive device with the intent to hurt others, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY — A 15-year-old was arrested and charged Monday after he made several threats to detonate an explosive device at Lindenhurst High School, Suffolk County police said.
The teenager, a Lindenhurst student, was charged with aggravated making a threat of mass harm, after he threatened to use the explosive device on Monday, police said.
School officials were made aware of the threat on Monday morning and notified police. The student — a sophomore — was arrested at the school at 1:30 p.m., police said.

Over the past month, he had threatened to use the explosive device with the intention of injuring staff and students, as well as other threats to the school.
He was later released to a family member and will be arraigned at Family Court in Central Islip at a later date.
